About Us

Founded in Elkhart, IN by two Kruis brothers in 1958, Kruis Mold & Engineering has specialized in building high-quality, close-tolerance prototype and production injection molds for our customers for over 60 years. Coinciding with our mold builds, we also specialize in the following services: custom fixture design and building, Blanchard grinding, prototype and production machining, and the production of close-tolerance grind and cure mandrels for the rubber and seal producing industries. Our History

1958: Kruis Grinding founded in a two car garage by John and Herman Kruis. Their first machine was a centerless grinder, followed by a Blanchard grinder.

1960-1969: The business moved to Lusher Street in Elkhart IN and remained there for 10 years. In 1961 we became one of the first companies in the Midwest to purchase an EDM and changed our name to Kruis Mold & Engineering.

1970: Moved to our current location at 2221 Industrial Parkway, Elkhart, IN 46516.

1980-1990: Continued investing in additional equipment including a large CNC machine and Blanchard grinder.

1992: Purchased our first high-end 3D machining software, CAMAX.

2003: In response to the changing market we began to offer overseas tooling options to our customers with great success. The thorough validation requirements we've given to our suppliers since day one have helped us feel confident in every mold we receive from overseas.

Current Day: We continue to diversify our market base while constantly striving to improve our internal tool shop and our overseas suppliers. It remains our goal to offer our customers the finest service and attention to detail on every project we build.
